The Hoopbus, a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to building community and spreading love through the game of basketball, is seeking candidates for a Director of Fundraising. As the Director of Fundraising, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing our fundraising strategy, overseeing grant lifecycles, building relationships with donors, and ultimately leading the push to grow revenue streams from foundational organizations, corporate donors, public and private grants and individual donors ensuring the financial sustainability of our impactful programs. About Us

The Hoopbus uses a fleet as vehicles of change, a Hoopbus is a renovated school bus that functions as a mobile court with goals affixed to the front and back. We amplify community engagement partnering with nonprofits, schools and brands to increase attendance, awareness and bring energy to events. Our mission is to bring basketball where it’s needed most, inspiring kids, and advocating for an inclusive and equitable society for all. Hoopbus hosted programs and initiatives that impacted more than one million people in 2023, including assembly and SEL programs for schools, holiday toy drives and court refurbishments and renovations.

Qualifications:

  • Located in Los Angeles or New York

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program, pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Social Work, Marketing, Communications).

  • Passionate about community engagement, youth development, and the mission of The Hoopbus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with technology.

Responsibilities:


Community Outreach and Engagement:

  • Assist in organizing and implementing community events, workshops, and sports programs.

  • Engage with local communities to promote initiatives and build positive relationships.

Social Media and Marketing:

  • Contribute to social media content creation and scheduling.

  • Support marketing efforts to increase awareness of programs and events.

Program Support:

  • Assist program managers in planning and executing sports and educational programs.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the smooth operation of events and activities.

Data Entry and Analysis:

  • Support the collection and entry of data related to program participants and outcomes.

  • Assist in analyzing program data to measure impact and effectiveness.

Research:

  • Conduct research on best practices, trends, and resources related to youth development and community engagement.

  • Compile information to support program improvement and development.

  • Administrative Support:

  • Provide general administrative support, including filing, organizing documents, and responding to inquiries.

  • Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient office environment.

Collaboration and Learning:

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to enhance program effectiveness.

  • Attend relevant training sessions and workshops to further professional development.
