DIRECTOR OF FUNDRAISING

Job Description:

The Hoopbus, a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to building community and spreading love through the game of basketball, is seeking candidates for a Director of Fundraising. As the Director of Fundraising, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing our fundraising strategy, overseeing grant lifecycles, building relationships with donors, and ultimately leading the push to grow revenue streams from foundational organizations, corporate donors, public and private grants and individual donors ensuring the financial sustainability of our impactful programs. About Us

The Hoopbus uses a fleet as vehicles of change, a Hoopbus is a renovated school bus that functions as a mobile court with goals affixed to the front and back. We amplify community engagement partnering with nonprofits, schools and brands to increase attendance, awareness and bring energy to events. Our mission is to bring basketball where it’s needed most, inspiring kids, and advocating for an inclusive and equitable society for all. Hoopbus hosted programs and initiatives that impacted more than one million people in 2023, including assembly and SEL programs for schools, holiday toy drives and court refurbishments and renovations. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Proven experience in fundraising, with a focus on strategic planning and donor relationship management.

  • Comprehensive understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with donors, sponsors, and team members.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing successful fundraising campaigns.

  • Strong leadership and team management experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate a fundraising team.

  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding fundraising targets.

  • Familiarity with donor management software

  • Passion for The Hoopbus mission and a commitment to social impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Fundraising Planning:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with The Hoopbus's mission and goals.

    • Create annual and long-term fundraising plans, identifying key objectives and measurable targets.

  • Donor Relationship Management:

    • Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations.

    • Develop personalized strategies to engage donors and enhance their connection with The Hoopbus.

  • Fundraising Campaigns:

    • Lead and oversee the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives.

    • Collaborate with marketing and communication teams to create compelling fundraising materials.

  • Grant Writing and Proposals:

    • Identify and pursue grant opportunities, preparing high-quality grant proposals and reports.

    • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines.

  • Team Leadership:

    • Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing fundraising team.

    • Foster a collaborative and motivated team culture to achieve fundraising goals.

  • Budget Oversight:

    • Work closely with the finance team to develop and monitor fundraising budgets.

    • Provide regular financial reports and analysis to assess fundraising performance.

  • Networking and Representation:

    • Represent The Hoopbus to key stakeholders in the fundraising community 

    • Network with key stakeholders and influencers in the fundraising community.
